ADVENTURES IN SUCCESS -- The Strangest Film Ever

Adventures in Success tells the story of the journey of a sex cult in a documentary style. Yes, you read that right, a sex cult. This will definitely be one of the strangest movies you watch if you decide to see it. As soon as you enter the film, there is an ominous feeling. Now, of course, you have to remember that this film is supposed to be humorous, so please, don't take it too seriously or you might disturb yourself more than the film already will. 

The great thing about this movie is that there is not a single sex scene in it. However, even with no sex scenes, there are some things that you'll witness that'll make you feel like you should be in the other room. This is the type of film that makes you uncomfortable, but you just keep watching for some reason. You start the movie by immediately being introduced to what the "cult" does and what their primary mission is. A big, giant sign says, "this is the film you are watching, you have been warned".

What is interesting about this film is the characters. Even if this film is supposed to be humorous, you are still watching a cult. These people willingly decided to follow one person for the sole reason that they wanted to feel wanted and needed. Sadly, they found that in a sex cult. Meanwhile, there is an entire town against what these people do. Throughout the film, the townspeople are "interviewed" about what they think of the cult. Some don't care, some do, but most of them don't like it and want these people out of their town. What makes this so funny is that the townspeople who are accepting of the cult might as well join it themselves. 

As interesting as the movie is, there's one scene that an audience member will probably never forget. No, it has nothing to do with sex. However, it is a scene where the group is sitting down to eat breakfast and become the most disgusting human beings ever. If there was any time to shut off the film, it was that scene. 

While watching the movie, you can't help but think, "Is this how Manson did it?" because the way these people are manipulated is absolutely insane. The men in this cult aren't even allowed to ejaculate. Just the sheer thought of that sentence makes you laugh; how could you not? The documentary style was the perfect way to go with this film because it makes the characters look a little crazier than if it were a regular film, which also brings out the humorous aspect. 

Adventures In Success is now in theaters and hits VOD on March 8.
